Where are Ray-Bans made?

Many people believe that Ray-Bans are only made in Italy, but I'm here to give you the right answer.

Ray-Bans are actually made both in China and Italy, about 99% of RX frames are made there and just a few sunglass models are made at both or only in China.

Luxottica is the manufacturer of Ray-Bans and they have factories both in Italy and China. Certain sunglass models such as the RB 3267, RB 3211, RB 3293, RB 3379, RB 3386, RB 3387 and a few others are made in both or only in China and you are most likely going to get the one made in China.

I know people tend to think products coming out of china is a bunch of junk, but the Ray-Bans made in china is still by them, just one is put together by the Chinese and the other by the Italians.

I think Ray-Ban does need to stop making at-least there sunglasses in China, because people have the perception that Ray-Bans are only made in Italy, they should at-least mention that on their website to let people know. But sadly they don't seem to want to admit to it.

Also some people still think that Ray-Bans are made in the USA, but that was a long time ago back when Bausch and Lomb used to own Ray-Ban, but they sold Ray-Ban to an Italian company called Luxottica Group in 1999. Ever since, it has mainly been made in Italy, but now china too.
Also Luxottica Group, they own many other brands like Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Oakley, Maui Jim and so on, but even with those brands and so many more, Ray-Ban makes up about 60% of their business. Just think of that, they have so many other popular brands, but still, 60% is a huge chunk of the pie. So making them in China for them, is simply for profit. Like the famous quote "it's just business, nothing personal"

So what do you guys think? Don't you think Ray-Ban should stop making their products in China or do you think it is ok? Comment below...

Making Ray Ban sunglasses from CHINA will surely eliminate them from the competition. One day they will just sell their product in the sidewalk for 10 bucks because nobody want to wear high priced glasses made in CHINA.

I believed Ray Bans were made in the U.S. Now, I see that they are made in Italy and China.
Why is everything made in China? Where I can avoid it, I will chose anything I can find that is not made in China as I believe they use chemicals that are not healthy for humans.

Made in China means slave wages for the workers. I have no problem dropping $240 plus on glasses made by people who are being properly compensated, hence the price. But having the gall to charge that price for a product made in China is ludicrous and offensive.

Products are made in China because the corporations choose to have them there. Quality standards are still determined by the corporations! Not the country!

In the 80s, I bought their sunglasses since they were made in USA and I have probably the last pair that used Bosch lenses. My other ones were made in Italy.
Now Made in China and the prices are not 70% less? I am now going to buy my sunglasses: http://www.randolphusa.com/product-categories/sunglasses/

They are made in USA.

I will no longer be willing to pay the price for Ray Bans made in China. You have no idea whats fake and whats real. My last Ray Bans were made in Italy, but the new frames have made in China. For that price I`m not buying from China.

All rayban sunglasss should be made in Italy NOT China. If that's the case the prices should be alot cheaper for that product because the company is certainly paying for cheap labour in China. Half these designers get their clothes etc made in these countries though - so I guess you have to look at all designers who use cheap labour to make high end products. It's a joke!

i do believe it is ignorant for people to think made in china products are inferior. i mean just look at all the things you own. i would say 50% of things you bought are made in china. brand is a brand. i have sunglasses and frames both made in china and italy. do i notice the difference? no. it is more about how you take care of your eye wear than the brand itself.

You would think that, but before Bausch & Lomb sold Ray-Ban, it was so cheap to buy Ray-Bans, but when Luxottica took charge, they advertised heavily and now it's the most successful brand ever. The thing is, they can make it wherever they want, people will still buy them as they keep coming out with models people want.

That maybe true, but it's still made under the supervision and quality assurance from Luxottica in Italy, so if it's made in China or Italy, they'll be the same.

Well most are still made in Italy, not always, but most of the cheaper ones are the ones made in China, like the RB 3293 & RB 3386 which retail for $129.00, so they do still make the more expensive ones over in Italy.

Like I mentioned, most of the sunglasses are still made in Italy, if where it's made is a big issue for you, just choose a model that's made in Italy.

Yeah but everyone eventually becomes owned by Luxottica, just look at Oliver Peoples and Mykita, they kept refusing luxotticas bids, but eventually the money was too good to pass up. There will always be new brands, but eventually they all become luxottica. It is what it is.

No. I demand 1. Proper pay and conditions for chinese workers. 2. Proper product safety for consumers. 3. Less Greed in Companies. 4. If they can't provide any of it, homeland production so we get the wages to by what we produce

Suggestion: Do as I did. Go find a Vintage Pair of Original Bausch & Lomb Ray Bans. They are out there and usually cheaper than the new ones. It just takes some more time shopping around for them.

To me ,ay Ban NEED to made in Italy, can not made in China : first- you can hit FAKE made by china, 2nd they made with cheap material, 3rd you never know in plastic they made glasses is LAB or not, there could be a lot of chemical could bring you to CANCER easily. If You looking for "what Chine stuff selling in Asian , Millions Poison chemical used in food......I SAID :"NO EVERYTHING THAT MADE IN CHINA"
